What if
we had prophets like that of Isaiah today: would we be obedient, listen, as
well as follow their direction as the believers and saints of old? I wonder.
What if there is one among us right now? Would
we know him or her?
What if all believers lived as Isaiah? What if all believers walked holy and
righteous as the aforementioned? Wow.
Just imagine it for a brief moment; wouldn’t that be awesome! O Jesus, help us
to walk in the footsteps of such great men.
What if 'all' men of God walked with the
Power and Might of some of the other prophets such as Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel,
and the very first prophet in the Bible Moses?
Some may ask what a
prophet is. Simply put, a prophet speaks
divinely inspired messages to others. God tells the prophet what to say and the
prophet tells others what God said.
MESSIAH’S COMING.
Isaiah 7:14
The prophecy of the Virgin Birth
Christ Birthed by a Young, Virgin Woman.
The prophecy of the Virgin Birth has been a source of considerable controversy due to the use of the Hebrew word ‘almah, which can be translated “young woman,” as well as ‘virgin,’ Isaiah used ‘alman under the inspiration of the Spirit because the Lord was making a dual prophecy in this passage. The Lord was giving the sign of a child to King Ahaz. But the Holy Spirit was also speaking of the Messiah who would come, and that Child would literally be born of a virgin.
What if you are called to be a prophet?
Well, this I know; God cannot talk to people unless they are listening, and
sometimes it is easier to hear a message through another person. God may ask you
to tell another person something. That individual may not know what the message
means, but will feel a strong desire to deliver the message. God won't force you,
but He will be persistent. Only God knows the why behind the communication. You don't have to know why. That new prophet
is to just decide to deliver the message, using the Holy Spirit to guide him/her.
And remember, NEVER say this:
"you are speaking God’s words" this is risky business. Amen

riends, with that being said; I move on, being led by the
Holy Spirit, to share this message with you of Isaiah 7:14.
This prophetic
sign was given to Ahaz as an assurance of Judah’s hope in the midst of
adversity. It therefore had an immediate historical fulfillment. Its usage in the NT shows that it also has a
messianic fulfillment. The Hebrew word
for virgin (‘almah) means either a ‘virgin’
or a ‘young woman’ of marriageable
age. Isaiah’s readers could have
understood it to be an heir Messiancally.
It irrefutable refers to the Virgin Mary (Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:27),
where the Greek parathenos (virgin) removes any question. The optional form of the Hebrew word was
essential for the prophecy to serve the dual situation, relating both to the
Messiah’s birth in the future and to a more immediate birth in the kingly
line. A son to Isaiah’s reader would
have been an unidentified heir from Ahaz’s house, perhaps his Hezekiah.
Messiancally,
it was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, Immanuel (God-with-us) was the title
given to assure God’s participation in bring about deliverance from the Syrian
and Israelite coalition; messiancally, it became a key name marking Christ’s
incarnation.
Finally,
Friends, it would behoove me to include the next two [2] verses for further
inspiration. Read NT scripture to see
for yourselves the fruition of the prophecy of Isaiah.
Vv
15: Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to
refuse the evil, and choose the good.
Vv
16: For before
the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou
abhorrest (devastated) shall be forsaken of both her kings.
What if you were sent a prophecy just for
you, your friend, or even your family? Would you hear and heed it?
In Christ,
Janet
