RECAP: The Holy Bible
describe "the lawless one,"
as two people, one political, one religious
(Revelation 13), who will act as one? The coming of the lawless one is
according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not
receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And, for this
reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.

When is the Armageddon
taking place?
Discussing the "great tribulation"
that culminates in the battle of Armageddon, Jesus said: "Concerning that
day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but
only the Father." (Matthew 24:37-39).
As it was in the
days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For in the days
before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying
and giving in
marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew
nothing about what
would happen until the flood came and took them all away.
That is how it
will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
MOVING ON:
Will Armageddon be the
end of the world?
It will not be the end of our planet, since the
earth is mankind’s eternal home. (Psalm 37:29; 96:10; Ecclesiastes
1:4) Rather than destroying humanity, Armageddon saves it, because "a
great crowd" of God’s servants will survive. — Revelation 7:9, 14;
Psalm 37:34.
"Now concerning
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet Him, we beg you,
brethren, not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by
word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the
Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come,
unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness ["man of
sin" in the King James Version] is revealed, the son of perdition, who
opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so
that he takes his seat in the Temple of God, proclaiming himself to be
God."
"Do you not remember that when I was still with
you I told you this? And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be
revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness ["mystery of
iniquity"] is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so
until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, and the
Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and destroy him by His
appearing and His coming."
Signs:
Many theologians and pastors state that
sweeping moral decay, biblical disconnectedness and ongoing violence in the
Middle East are just a few of the prophetic markers that they believe were
foretold thousands of years ago in both the Old and New Testaments. But how can
Christian leaders be so sure that the biblical end times are approaching?
Jesus himself foretold of his future
Second Coming.
“You will hear of wars and rumors of
wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed … Nation will rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various
places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”
·
Chaos in the Middle East: With all this in
mind, the first sign that has some Bible scholars positing that the world is
either in or is rapidly approaching the end times is the ramped-up chaos in the
Middle East. In recent years, the situation in the region has been raising more
than a few eyebrows, as the seemingly never-ending tensions between Israel and
her neighbors continue to intensify.
·
The Islamic State: The Islamic
State’s murderous and bloodthirsty quest for power forge on. Taking those
events into account, many Bible experts will point out that some of the battles
described in scripture — clashes that they believe are still unfulfilled — are
slated to take place in the Middle East.
Many of the experts wonder if the
groundwork is currently being set for the fulfillment of the "Gog"
and "Magog" battles that are referenced in the books of Ezekiel and
Revelation — a controversial concept by many.
